Business Roundtable (BRT) is an association of chief executive officers (CEOs) of America’s leading companies established in 1972. Based in Washington, D.C., Business Roundtable serves as a voice for leading CEOs, working with policymakers from both political parties to advance sound economic policies to spur job creation, expand opportunity, and strengthen U.S. competitiveness. Business Roundtable Corporate Initiatives bring together the organization’s membership to make collective progress and apply best practices on ongoing and emerging issues such as worker training, diversity and second chance employment.  Examples of initiatives include:
  • APPRENTICESHIP ACCELERATOR - helps participating companies develop or scale registered apprenticeship programs to expand the pipeline of workers without a four-year college degree and support their development and advancement.
  • MULTIPLE PATHWAYS INITIATIVE - participating companies embark on a multi-year, targeted effort to reform companies’ hiring and talent management practices to emphasize the value of skills, rather than degrees, and to improve equity, diversity and workplace culture.
  • SECOND CHANCE BUSINESS COALITION - companies exchange best practices and draw on expert perspectives for expanding their second chance hiring and advancement practices.
  • WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE - participating CEOs work with local colleges and universities in eight U.S. regions to fill high-demand jobs in STEM-related fields, such as cybersecurity and data analytics.
  • THURGOOD MARSHALL COLLEGE FUND -  partnership focuses on investing in students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to develop a pipeline of diverse talent for America’s largest companies.
