Created in 2000 and based in Los Angeles, ECMC Foundation is a nationally-focused foundation working to improve higher education for career success among underserved populations through evidence-based innovation. It is one of several affiliates under the ECMC Group enterprise based in Minneapolis, which together work to help students succeed. The Foundation’s grantmaking and investing are concentrated on three strategic priorities:
  • removing barriers to postsecondary completion
  • building the capacity of institutions, systems and organizations
  • transforming the postsecondary ecosystem.
ECMC leads four current initiatives that are working toward systemic change in or through an area of the postsecondary ecosystem:
  • Basic Needs Initiative
  • Career and Technical Education Leadership Collaborative Initiative
  • Single Mother Student Success Initiative
  • Credit Mobility Initiative
