Overview

The Open Skills Network (OSN) is a coalition of employers, education providers, policymakers, military, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders dedicated to advancing skills-based education and hiring.

The OSN aims to reduce technological and operational barriers towards the adoption of skills-based education and hiring as a standard practice for the majority of education providers and employers in the U.S. The OSN is committed to the democratization of skills as a sharable, interoperable currency through the practical application of open, accessible, machine-actionable skills data. An open skills infrastructure is critical to support the future of work and the development of agile and robust talent pipelines where all individuals have the opportunity to achieve their career goals.

Leadership

The Network is led by Western Governors University (WGU), Walmart, and the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Partners

The OSN includes hundreds of organizations, including education providers, employers, associations, government, workforce development agencies, military, and technology companies -- over 700 organizations.
