Established in 2013, JUST Capital is an independent nonprofit organization committed to promoting "just business" practices as defined by the priorities of the American public. The organization supports companies in creating value for all stakeholders—employees, customers, communities, the environment, and shareholders—by concentrating on issues that matter most to Americans. Through polling Americans, JUST Capital identifies the social and ethical standards people believe companies should prioritize, which guides its programs and tools. It aims to ensure that business and markets drive positive change. JUST Capital’s research, rankings, and initiatives track, analyze, and scale corporate performance for broader impact.

Key activities include:

  1. Conducting extensive polling (over 170,000 Americans) to identify and prioritize issues for just business behavior.
  2. Publishing the annual “JUST 100” list in partnership with CNBC, highlighting companies that excel in corporate responsibility.
  3. Launching tools like the JUST Jobs Scorecard, which measures companies on equitable labor practices.

JUST Capital is funded by donations and grants from philanthropists and foundations including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Ford Foundation, and VoLo Foundation, as well as revenue from mission-aligned products, and collaborations with media partners.
