Founded in 1979, the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) is a nonprofit organization which represents and supports over 590 workforce development boards across the United States. NAWB is focused on policy and advocacy efforts, promoting policies and initiatives that promote workforce development, job training, and economic growth. NAWB works with federal agencies, policymakers, and stakeholders to shape workforce policies and advance the interests of its members.
NAWB also focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of local workforce development programs by providing resources, training, and technical assistance to its membership. Through conferences, workshops, and webinars, NAWB facilitates networking, knowledge sharing, and best practices among workforce professionals, helping their members stay informed about the latest trends and innovations in the field. Additionally, NAWB offers research and analysis on workforce issues, empowering its members to make data-driven decisions and adapt to changing economic conditions.
