Founded in 1915, the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), formerly the Association of American Colleges, is a global nonprofit organization with membership including public and private, two-year and four-year colleges and universities, state higher education systems and agencies around the United States, degree-granting higher education institutions around the world, and other organizations and individuals.

AAC&U’s work focuses on advancing the democratic purposes of higher education and improving education quality and equity in liberal education. AAC&U hosts conferences, workshops, webinars, and provides resources in a variety of formats including podcasts, publications and research.
