Founded in 1948, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), formerly the American Society of Personnel Administration (1948 - 1989), is a global HR membership organization, representing over 300,000 members in more than 165 countries. SHRM serves as a prominent voice for human resource management and provides a platform for HR professionals to connect, learn, and advocate for best practices in the field. SHRM maintains over 600 local professional and student chapters.
