Founded in 1946, American Institutes for Research (AIR) is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that conducts behavioral and social science research and delivers technical assistance to solve challenges in the U.S. and globally. AIR’s work includes projects focused on education, health, human services, international efforts, and the workforce.

AIR works with government agencies and organizations to provide:

  • Research and Program Evaluation
  • Technical Assistance
  • Data Science and Technology
  • Survey Design and Administration

In addition to the projects and reports related to AIR’s ongoing mission, the organization has a landmark commitment launched in 2021:

AIR Equity Initiative – a five-year investment in behavioral and social science research and technical assistance aimed at addressing underlying causes of systemic inequities and lack of opportunities
