The National Skills Coalition (NSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on advancing policies and practices that support the development of a skilled workforce in the United States. Founded in 1998, NSC operates with a mission to advocate for investments in equitable college pathways, workforce education, and training programs that prepare individuals for high-quality jobs and careers.

One of NSC's objectives is to promote policies that ensure workers have access to education and training programs aligned with the needs of employers in key industries. NSC maintains several campaigns focused on improving workforce development, education, and skill building programs.

Current campaigns include:

NSC conducts policy analysis and research to inform its advocacy efforts and to provide policymakers and stakeholders with evidence-based suggestions for improving workforce development policies. NSC examines trends in the labor market, identifies emerging skill gaps, and evaluates the effectiveness of various workforce development programs. NSC provides a detailed look at skills and educational gaps at the state level through their Skills Mismatch initiative.

In addition to its advocacy and research activities, NSC facilitates networking and collaboration among stakeholders at the national, state, and local levels to promote effective workforce development policies and practices. The coalition organizes working groups, summits, and conferences to bring together policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to exchange ideas, share best practices, and develop strategies for addressing common challenges.
