New Opportunities Vision and Achievement of Northeast Louisiana (NOVA NELA), founded in 2006 and established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2008, is focused on fostering economic growth, community development, and innovation in the northeastern region of Louisiana. NOVA NELA partners with local government entities, community organizations, and stakeholders, and seeks to promote and strengthen the economic ecosystem of the region.
NOVA NELA’s primary services are designed to help underemployed and unemployed individuals find career training, counseling, and job placement opportunities. Additionally, NOVA NELA maintains a financial opportunity center to provide financial literacy and employment coaching opportunities. NOVA NELA also provides a digital navigation program to help residents meet internet and device needs to navigate the increasingly digital landscape.
NOVA NELA partners with educational institutions, vocational training programs, and employers to ensure residents have access to quality education and training opportunities. By aligning educational offerings with the needs of local industries, NOVA NELA aims to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the evolving job market.
