Formed in 1966, WestEd is a San Francisco-based nonpartisan, nonprofit research, development, and service agency. WestEd works with education partners and other community members to promote academic excellence, achieve equity, and improve learning for children, youth, and adults. WestEd is a Joint Powers Agency, and is governed by public entities in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah.

WestEd provides a broad range of services tailored to the needs of its clients, including research and evaluation, professional development, technical assistance, policy analysis/guidance, and National Support Centers.
