Frontier Set, a national network of 29 colleges and universities and two state systems, created with support from the Gates Foundation to enable ideas to be shared across political and institutional contexts. Established in 2015, the network focuses on developing, executing, and sharing institutional redesign strategies. The network includes a variety of stakeholders, including colleges and universities, advocacy organizations, membership associations, and think tanks – all committed to eliminating race, ethnicity, and income as predictors of learner success by transforming how they operate.
Frontier Set represents an emerging trend: philanthropic organizations working through networks of intermediaries to fast-track policies and new practices.
