Founded in 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky, Baptist Health is a nonprofit health system with health care facilities located throughout the states of Kentucky and Indiana. The Baptist Health system comprises nine hospitals and over 400 points of care, including: outpatient facilities, physician practices, urgent care clinics, diagnostic and surgery centers, home care, fitness centers, occupational medicine and physical therapy clinics.
Each hospital in the Baptist Health system is recognized by the American Nursing Credentialing Center, the first health system in the U.S. to have all of its hospitals recognized.
Baptist Health partners with the University of Louisville in a collaborative effort to provide a family residency program designed to bring new physicians to rural communities. The network is also committed to research with over 200 clinical studies in progress. The research includes new treatments in areas such as oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, neuroscience and epidemiology.
