Established in 2018, the Cognizant Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting educational initiatives and programs designed to assist learners in building the skills, knowledge, and expertise necessary to navigate and succeed in various workforce roles in the tech industry. The Cognizant Foundation provides grant funding opportunities and partnerships to support a broad approach to achieving its goals. These efforts also include supporting K-12 STEM programs and increasing the number of available computer science teachers in underserved communities. In addition to supporting formal education, the Cognizant Foundation actively invests in skill development programs. These initiatives are designed to equip individuals with practical, hands-on experience, preparing them to meet the demands of the contemporary job market.

To achieve its educational goals, the Cognizant Foundation collaborates with various educational institutions, non-profits, and community organizations. By forming strategic partnerships, the foundation aims to amplify the impact of its initiatives and reach a broader audience. These partnerships facilitate the development and expansion of educational programs, ensuring they are accessible to individuals from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds. The foundation provides funding and partnership opportunities to grantees in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Germany.
