In 2021, Jobs for the Future JFF launched the Recover Stronger initiative in response to the significant disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This initiative sees the challenges created by the pandemic and its aftermath as a chance to fundamentally transform talent management systems, offering a unique opportunity for positive change. The focus is on reimagining corporate talent practices to prioritize equity, placing people at the forefront of business strategies, and fostering widespread economic mobility, particularly among those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recover Stronger is rallying corporations and employers to play a pivotal role in facilitating the nation's recovery, fostering resilience, and promoting prosperity after the crisis. Through a collective commitment to people-centric approaches, this initiative aims to raise awareness and facilitate engagement among companies, providing them with resources and a supportive community to enact meaningful change.

JFF has developed a model and talent framework for worker-centered employee recruitment, development, and retention. The Impact Employer Model outlines six areas for companies to focus on changing or modifying to ensure high-impact returns:

  • Corporate Culture
  • Workforce Planning
  • Talent Acquisition
  • Talent Development
  • Total Rewards
  • Offboarding

The Recovery Playbook for Impact Employers offers insights and guidance to help business leaders navigate the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
