The Digital Credentials Consortium (DCC)is a membership organization, founded in 2018, as a collaboration among universities aimed at establishing an open infrastructure for digital credentials. Its primary objective is to enable learners to share their academic credentials securely and easily across institutions and employers. The consortium focuses on developing standards, protocols, and tools to ensure the interoperability and trustworthiness of digital credentials.
The DCC issued a white paper: "Building the digital credential infrastructure for the future,” providing a framework for the consortium and members.
