Founded in 2017, the Alliance for Higher Education in Prison is a nonprofit organization with a mission to build and support field-wide infrastructure that advances access and excellence in higher education for individuals in prison and during reentry. The mission is realized through convening the field, amplifying system-impacted voices, and mobilizing knowledge and resources via projects, grant-making, financial aid, and scholarships.
