Formed in 1900, Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM) is a trade association exclusively dedicated to manufacturers in Georgia, and serves as the state-unified voice and advocate for that industry in legislative, regulatory, and public relations matters. The association works to address the industry's workforce challenges with initiatives such as:

  • Partnering to launch "Manufacturing Georgia," a digital platform that connects manufacturers with students and job seekers to showcase career opportunities.
  • Supporting education and training programs through its affiliate, the Manufacturers Education Foundation (MEF), which provides scholarships and support for technical colleges and universities.
  • Collaborating with the Georgia Department of Education and the SME Education Foundation to bring manufacturing-focused programs (SME PRIME) to high schools across the state.

GAM also provides its members with expert analysis, publications (such as the annual Workforce Needs Report), seminars, and guidance on various operational and industry issues. It fosters a community for manufacturers to exchange best practices, build business relationships, and collaborate with government departments, educational leaders, and service providers.
